As Students Start the Second Semester, District Launches STOPit Anonymous Reporting App
Castleberry ISD is excited to welcome students back to campus on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. The district remains committed to keeping students and employees safe, healthy, and engaged in a positive learning experience.
With the start of the new year, Castleberry ISD is pleased to announce the district is launching STOPit, an online, anonymous reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors. STOPit consists of an app and a back-end incident management system for school administrators to easily identify, intervene, and provide assistance to at-risk individuals while building a prevention-driven culture.
Students have the power to help put an end to harmful and inappropriate behavior they see online through social media and other means. They can use STOPit to reach out for help if they or a peer are facing a personal crisis or experiencing bullying, abuse, or are otherwise in need of assistance. Castleberry ISD is using STOPit to create safer, kinder school communities on and offline.
This week students will learn how to access and utilize this powerful tool. All Castleberry ISD students are able to access the platform from their school device or by downloading the app onto their personal cell phone.
Parents may also use the app/website to report concerns. One of the best ways to tackle bullying and cyberbullying is for schools, students and parents to work together and be #CISDbettertogether.
Additional information about the STOPit app is available on the Bullying Prevention webpage.
In addition to the launch of STOPit, all campuses will be conducting a reboot this week to review district and campus expectations for behavior, dress code, and attendance as outlined in the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct. The district greatly appreciates your support in ensuring your child is at school each day, on time, and in dress code.
