Qualifications
Children enrolling in pre-K must be 4 years of age on or before September 1st. Castleberry ISD's pre-kindergarten program is open to all, including those who do not meet the federal guidelines to qualify and those who reside outside the district boundaries. There is a place for all students in Castleberry ISD, however students who qualify and reside within the district boundaries will be given first priority on campus assignment.
The federal guidelines for pre-K qualification are listed below.

Be educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program)

Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language

Be homeless

Be a child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority

Be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty

Have ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas DFPS (foster care) following an adversary hearing
