Castleberry ISD Welcomes Virginia Dean as the Assistant Principal at TRUCE Learning Center
Castleberry ISD welcomes Virginia Dean as the assistant principal at TRUCE Learning Center. Dean joins Castleberry ISD from Fort Worth, where she served as a data analyst for the past 10 years. She began her career in education 28 years ago as a health science technology teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
Dean earned a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy from Georgia State University and completed the University of North Texas Alternative Teacher Certification program at the start of her teaching career. She also holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman’s University.
Her career in education began in 1996 as a health science teacher in FWISD, following twenty years as a respiratory therapist. After three years in the classroom, she was promoted to assistant principal at Forest Oak Middle School. Dean later served as principal of J.P. Elder Middle School and North Side High School in FWISD. She also worked as a consultant for the Southern Regional Education Board, traveling across Texas and Louisiana to work with middle and high schools. After her consulting role, Dean returned to the classroom in Mansfield ISD. For the past decade, she has served as a data analyst at Green B. Trimble Technical High School, where she was campus testing coordinator and LPAC chair.
Outside of work, Dean enjoys camping and fishing. On days when the weather in Texas is not conducive to outdoor activities, she can be found at her sewing or embroidery machine, creating quilts and other projects.
Dean’s educational philosophy is “as long as you base your decisions on what is truly best for the students, you can’t go wrong.” She looks forward to building new relationships in her new role and expresses gratitude to the Board of Education and Mrs. Smith-Faulkner for the opportunity to serve Castleberry ISD students.
