Castleberry ISD is pleased to introduce Kara Hankins as the district’s Lead Diagnostician. With 22 years of service in education, Hankins has spent her entire career in Castleberry ISD. Over the years she has served in the roles of paraeducator, special education teacher, and campus diagnostician.
Serving as an educational diagnostician for the past 19 years has allowed her to work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure that every child receives the support they need to succeed in academics, the community, and life after high school. Hankins is also proud to have collaborated with colleagues from across the district to drive positive change and innovation.
Hankins earned her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies from Texas Woman’s University and later continued her education and earned a Master of Education in Special Education with a Diagnostician Certificate.
Hankins is a graduate of Castleberry High School and continues to reside in River Oaks. She and her husband, Michael, are the proud parents of Lane, also a graduate of CISD. As a family they enjoy glamping, boating, and driving with the top down in a vintage Chevy SSR.
As a Castleberry alumni, Hankins understands the importance of quality education and support for all students and families. CISD is not just a place to work; it is her home, her community, and her source of inspiration. Kara would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude to the board for their unwavering commitment to excellence in education, whose dedication and support make it possible for students, staff, and families to thrive and continue making a positive impact on our schools and community.
