Castleberry ISD Welcomes Diana Pierce Director of Athletics

Castleberry ISD is excited to announce Diana (DiDi) Pierce as the district’s new Director of Athletics. Didi Pierce comes to Castleberry ISD from Copperas Cove ISD where she most recently served as the junior high girls’ athletics coordinator for the past year. Prior to her time in Copperas Cove ISD, Pierce was in Abilene ISD for 25 years, where she was the Head Volleyball coach at Abilene High School. She served as the Girls’ Athletic Coordinator where she was responsible for overseeing the girl’s athletic programs at all middle and high schools in Abilene ISD. Didi Pierce’s coaching and teaching career began at Groesbeck High School where she served as the Head Volleyball and Softball Coach.

Ms. Pierce amassed over 550 wins during her time as Head Coach at Abilene High and is recognized as the winningest volleyball coach in Abilene High history. She was honored with the Chuck Moser award, which recognizes the Big Country Coach of the Year. She was also selected to coach the inaugural Big Country FCA All-Star Volleyball team. In addition to coaching volleyball, she also devoted time as an Assistant Girls’ Basketball and Softball Coach and was the Health and Physical Education Department Chair.

She is a graduate of Texas A&M University, while earning a Bachelor of Science degree and was a letterman in volleyball and softball. She graduated from Abilene High School and was an 11-time letterman while playing four sports.

Ms. Pierce is married to Kyle, who is a retired teacher and coach of 31 years. The couple has two daughters, Ashley and Allison. Ashley is currently a teacher and coach in Carroll ISD and Allison is a senior Business Marketing major at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor.

Didi Pierce brings 28 years of coaching and leadership experience to Castleberry ISD. Throughout her career, she has gained experience at various leadership positions and has served on numerous Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star and All-State committees.
