Castleberry ISD welcomes Diana Colby as the district’s incoming lead/high school librarian. Colby joins Castleberry ISD from Keller ISD where she served as a librarian at all levels for the past 11 years. She also has served as the district library facilitator for 4 years. She started her career in education 16 years ago as a Texas History Teacher in Keller ISD.
Colby graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s of Art in History Education and from the University of North Texas with a Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction along with her library certification. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in School Library Leadership.
She has also presented at local, state, national and international conferences on school library leadership and technology applications. She has earned over $50,000 in educational grants for her libraries, and has co-published journal articles.
When Colby is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren and horses. She also enjoys traveling to watch her husband run marathons.
Colby is looking forward to the opportunity of being part of a school district that values libraries and librarians. She hopes to continue to spread the love of learning and reading to all Castleberry students and families. She is grateful to the Castleberry ISD Board of Education for the opportunity to serve and work in Castleberry ISD.
