Neighborhood Nuisance: On-Going Construction on Churchill Road

Castleberry ISD district leadership team met with the City of Fort Worth to demand a completion timeline for the Churchill Road project. The district's leadership team expressed to City of Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker the frustration the prolonged construction project has caused to families and students traveling to Castleberry High School and other district events.

City officials shared the updated construction timeline for the Churchill Road project, which is estimated to be completely finished by the end of February 2022, weather permitting. Various sections of Churchill Road will be closed during each project phase. The four phases and specific closures are identified below.

Water Line Replacement

Dates: Monday, October 18, 2021 through Sunday, October 24, 2021 (weather Churchill Road Construction Map permitting)

Area(s) Impacted: Churchill Road, in front of the Castleberry ISD Technology Building between Blackstone Drive and Melbourne Drive, will be reduced to one lane only. Cars will only be able to travel southbound on this block of Churchill Road.

Purpose: Crews will finish replacing the water line on this stretch of Churchill Road.

Phase 1

Tentative Dates: Starts Wednesday, December 15. Map of Churchill Road construction

Area(s) Impacted: Full closure of Churchill Road from South of Rockwood Drive to White Settlement Road. Traffic on White Settlement Road will be reduced to two lanes, and traffic will not be able to access Churchill Road from White Settlement Road.

Purpose: Asphalt Pulverization, Cement Treated Sub-grade stabilization, 3" Asphalt Pavement

Phase 2

Tentative Dates: unknown Churchill Road Construction Map

Area(s) Impacted: Full closure of Churchill Road from North of Melbourne Drive to South of Rockwood Drive.

Purpose: Asphalt Pulverization, Cement Treated Sub-grade stabilization, 3" Asphalt Pavement

Phase 3

Tentative Dates: unknown Churchill Road Construction Map

Area(s) Impacted: Full closure of Churchill Road from North of Melbourne Drive to South of Doyle Drive.

Purpose: Asphalt Pulverization, Cement Treated Sub-grade stabilization, 3" Asphalt Pavement

Phase 4

Tentative Dates: unknown Churchill Road Construction Map

Area(s) Impacted: Full closure of Churchill Road from South of Doyle Drive North to River Oaks Boulevard.

Purpose: Asphalt Pulverization, Cement Treated Sub-grade stabilization, 3" Asphalt Pavement
