Castleberry ISD Welcomes Jenny Royer as Elementary Math Instructional Coach

Castleberry ISD welcomes Jenny Royer as the district’s new Elementary Math Instructional Coach. Royer joins Castleberry ISD from Amphitheater School District in Arizona where she served as an Assistant Principal for five years. She started her career in education 20 years ago as a fourth grade teacher in Jordan School District.

Royer graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Arizona State University with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. She holds various Texas educator certifications including Principal as Instructional Leader EC-12, Core Subjects EC-8, English as a Second Language, and Gifted & Talented.

After serving fifteen years in the classroom teaching multiple grade levels at the primary and intermediate levels, Royer made the transition to leadership. She has held various leadership roles such as district site technology coach, summer school lead, and PBIS Coordinator. During the course of her career, Royer has achieved the following: Wal-Mart teacher of the year (Tucson, AZ), Distinguished Employee Award, Ben’s Bell recipient, and passed a legislative bill in recognition of Copper as the new state metal. She has also achieved success in closing the achievement gap by instructionally supporting faculty to implement innovative teaching strategies and 21st Century Skills. She is passionate about coaching and mentoring teachers and serving her district community.

Royer and her husband are recent empty nesters and have two grown children. Her oldest daughter is married, and her youngest daughter is currently serving in the United States Navy. Royer enjoys spending time with her daughter and son-in-law, loves to hike, and spend time outdoors. She was born and raised in West Texas and she is a fifth generation Texan. She is so glad to be home in her native state.

Her goal is to inspire and assist teachers to develop exceptional teaching practices to promote quality math instruction. Royer is honored to serve at Castleberry ISD and thanks the superintendent and the Castleberry Board of Education for this opportunity.
