Mariachi Los Leones made their second trip to the UIL State Mariachi Festival on February 22nd, held in the beautiful Seguin ISD Performing Arts Center. Several of the state's top mariachis competed over the course of three days with the ultimate goal of giving their best performance to earn the top rating of a UIL First Division. Mariachi Los Leones exceeded expectations by not only earning the top rating of a first division, but they also placed the 2nd highest number of UIL Outstanding Performers among all of the 3A and 4A schools competing! A special congratulations goes to the following UIL Outstanding Performers from Mariachi Los Leones: Karla A, Jacqueline C, Sofia G, Fatima R, Robert R, Steve S, Camilla T, and Daisy V!
The next competition for Mariachi Los Leones will be the Texas Association of Mariachi Educators State Competition held in Somerset, TX on April 12-13. At this competition, Mariachi Los Leones will be ranked among the top 4A mariachis in the state.
