CHS Class of 2022 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Castleberry High School is proud to announce the class of 2022 valedictorian and salutatorian.

At Monday night’s school board meeting, Cathy Williams, principal of Castleberry High School, announced the class of 2022 valedictorian, Brandon Garibay, and salutatorian, Drew Daffern. The work ethic, determination, and perseverance of these graduating seniors has not gone unnoticed during their time at Castleberry ISD.

The class of 2022 valedictorian is Brandon Garibay whoBrandon Garibay, Valedictorian has been a Castleberry Lion for 11 years. Brandon is the son of Cesar Garibay and Ana Garcia.

Throughout high school, Brandon has been an active member of the football team and track and field team. He was awarded Academic All State in football. Brandon has been an active member of the CHS Band program. He played bassoon in the school’s concert band for two years, in addition to playing the saxophone in the CHS Marching Band. As a member of the band, Brandon qualified for UIL State in 2018 and had the honor of being the Wind Ensemble Section Leader.

Not only has Brandon been active in musical and athletic endeavors, but he also has been a member of the National Technical Honor Society for four years. Brandon has excelled academically while enrolled in Advanced Placement, University of Texas OnRamps, and Tarrant County College Dual Credit courses. He has earned 33 high school credits and an overall GPA of 5.188.

Brandon plans on attending the University of Texas at Arlington and majoring in Computer Engineering.

The class of 2022 salutatorian is Drew Daffern who has been a Castleberry Lion for 10 years. Drew is the son of Heather and Aaron Daffern.

During his freshman year, Drew played saxophone for theDrew Daffern, Salutatorian CHS Marching and Jazz Bands. He was part of the band who qualified for UIL State in 2018. He is a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the National Technical Honor Society, and a member of the Esports Club.

Drew has excelled academically while attending Castleberry High School. He has earned 37 high school credits while taking Advanced Placement, University of Texas OnRamps, Texas State Technical College courses, and Tarrant County College Dual Credit courses and maintaining an overall GPA of 5.048.

Drew plans to attend the University of North Texas and major in Computer Science.

Graduation for Castleberry High School class of 2022 is at 7:30 PM on Friday, May 27, 2022 inside MacGorman Auditorium on the campus of Southwestern Theological Seminary.
