Castleberry ISD welcomes Claudine Avila as the district’s new 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Director. Avila joins Castleberry ISD from Birdville ISD where she served as Project Director for the past four years. She started her career in education 20 years ago as a paraprofessional.
Avila received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. She is further expanding her expertise by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Management. Avila’s educational journey reflects a deep commitment to both personal and professional development, with a focus on positively impacting individuals and organizations alike.
Embarking on a fulfilling professional journey, Avila has passionately championed Family Child Care, Early Childhood, and Education, forging a robust foundation for her career's milestones. As a committed education professional, she tirelessly upheld uncompromising standards of care and learning. Guiding the inception and effective management of transformative programs such as the Family Child Care Head Start Pilot and Los Angeles Universal Preschool, and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant at Birdville ISD. Moreover, her role in Child Protective Services, ensuring child safety, has underscored her commitment to safeguarding the well-being of children. Avila demonstrates an unwavering dedication to quality and continuous improvement. Over the years, her active involvement in esteemed state and national associations and committees, including the California Association for Family Child Care, National Association for Family Child Care, and the Los Angeles Child Care Planning Committee, Birdville ISD’s Partner’s In Education, Tarrant County College Early Childhood Committee, has allowed her to contribute meaningfully to the field. Her passion for excellence has earned recognition through features in platforms like Whittier Daily News, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Los Ninos en Su Casa/A Place of Our Own, and she also received a Proclamation Recognition from the City of Haltom for Afterschool Professionals week in 2023, further solidifying her commitment to elevating education and students’ academic success.
Avila is a caring mom and devoted wife, with a heart for education and a strong passion for supporting children and families. Her love for learning remains steadfast, as she's a lifelong learner, always seeking new knowledge. In her free time, she takes great joy in creating delicious dishes and desserts, and traveling setting off on exciting adventures.
Avila’s steadfast dedication and unwavering philosophy center on nurturing lasting, positive transformation in the lives of children, families, and the community. She feels an immense honor to ardently advocate for the academic success of our future leaders.
