Castleberry High School CTE Students Honored at Fort Worth Mayor’s “Where Achievement Begins” Workforce Celebration

Fort Worth, TX – On Thursday, April 24, 2025, fifteen outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) students from Castleberry High School were honored at the Fort Worth Mayor’s “Where Achievement Begins” celebration, held at Casa Mañana Theatre. The event, hosted by the Mayor’s Council on Education & Workforce, celebrated graduates across the region who have demonstrated exceptional readiness for the workforce through certifications, internships, and career-aligned achievements.

All fifteen recognized Castleberry students are CTE Pathway Completers and have earned Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs) in high-demand fields such as Health Science, Cybersecurity, Programming and Software Development, Culinary Arts, Construction, and Business Entrepreneurship. These students exemplify the strength of Castleberry ISD’s commitment to providing meaningful, career-aligned education that prepares students for success beyond high school.

The event also spotlighted Castleberry High School’s Health Science program, which received special recognition for its outstanding contributions to student career readiness. In a landmark moment, Kristin Flewelling, CHS Health Science teacher, was named the inaugural recipient of the “Where Achievement Begins Outstanding Educator Award”, honoring her exceptional dedication to student success and workforce development.

“This event was more than a celebration—it was a validation of the work our students and staff put in every day to build futures filled with opportunity,” said Stephanie Martinez, Director of Career and Technology Education at Castleberry ISD. “Our students are graduating with more than diplomas—they’re leaving us with credentials, confidence, and a clear direction.”

The “Where Achievement Begins” celebration continues to highlight the critical connection between education and economic development, showcasing how schools like Castleberry High School are preparing the next generation of skilled professionals.
