Castleberry ISD welcomes Rigoberto Zavala as the district’s next Director of Auxiliary Programs and Facility Maintenance. Zavala joins Castleberry ISD from the Garland Independent School District where he served as the Director of Maintenance for the past year and the Assistant Director for the three previous years. In 2010 he started his journey in K12 as a supervisor for the Dallas independent school district. He led a team to address challenges under the maintenance umbrella that ultimately led him to his next appointment. Shortly after 2012, he was promoted to a maintenance manager, a position that allowed for greater responsibility and influence in ensuring the efficient operation of school facilities. For nearly a decade, he has demonstrated leadership, implementing strategic maintenance plans, and fostering a culture of excellence within the maintenance team.

Embarking on his journey into the construction industry in 2002, he initially honed skills in the electrical, paint contracting, and trim carpentry crafts. Over the course of two decades, he has evolved professionally, embracing various roles that ultimately led to a distinguished career in education and facility management.

Throughout his career, spanning over 22 years in construction, with 15 of those years in K-12, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to excellence, innovation, and continuous improvements. His journey from the trenches of construction to the helm of  educational leadership is a testament to his new chapter as the Director of Auxiliary services, with reliance, expertise and unwavering dedication to serving both students and staff alike.

His goals are to foster strong relationships with students, staff, and the broader community, while consistently driving improvements to Castleberry ISD facilities. Zavala is committed to leading with integrity, setting a positive example for others to follow. He also aims to build a robust pipeline for future leadership development, ensuring a sustainable impact on the district. He extends his gratitude to the Superintendent and the Board for the opportunity to serve the Castleberry community and contribute to its continued growth and success.
