Castleberry ISD Announces Teachers Receiving Designations Under the Teacher Incentive Allotment

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved Castleberry Independent School District to award new Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) teacher designations for the 2024-2025 school year. Pending verification of eligibility, Castleberry ISD expects to newly designate thirty teachers.
In May, TEA will notify Castleberry ISD of the allotment generated by teachers with one of three possible designations: recognized, exemplary, or master. The amount of funding a designated teacher earns for the district varies by campus based on designation level and socioeconomic factors.
Superintendent Renee Smith-Faulkner expressed her admiration for these exceptional teachers, stating, “Our educators are the heart of Castleberry ISD, and I am incredibly proud of those receiving TIA designations. Their commitment to excellence in teaching and student growth is evident every day, and this recognition affirms the incredible work happening in our classrooms.”
The TIA program began in 2019 when the 86th Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3 (HB3) established a program to provide funding to districts willing to develop local designation systems for identifying high-performing teachers. The TIA program assists districts financially with recruiting, supporting, and retaining high effective teachers in Texas schools.
"This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our educators and the district’s focus on high-quality instruction," added Smith-Faulkner. "We will continue to support our teachers and invest in their success, ensuring the best learning opportunities for our students."
Castleberry ISD underwent a three-year process to develop a designation system for TIA that included determining eligible teaching assignments, establishing rubrics, developing a formula for evaluating performance data, and creating a TIA spending plan.
Castleberry ISD remains committed to fostering an environment where educators feel valued and supported, and the district looks forward to celebrating more teachers earning designations in the future.
