Castleberry ISD Congratulates Michael Garcia Promoted to AP at IMMS

Castleberry ISD is excited to announce the promotion of Michael Garcia as the district’s new Assistant Principal at Irma Marsh Middle School. Garcia has previously served Irma Marsh Middle School as a teacher and a coach for the past two years. He began his career in education in Dexter Consolidated Schools as a classroom teacher and a coach.

Garcia is a Roswell, New Mexico native. He started his journey in education at Roswell Job Corps as a Work-Based College and Career Readiness Coordinator. Garcia has over 16 years of experience teaching in various subject areas including Science, Health, Physical Education and Driver’s Education. He graduated high school from New Mexico Military Institute and earned a Bachelors of Science from Eastern New Mexico University. Garcia holds Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Argosy University as well as his Principal Certification from Lamar University.

Garcia has been a high school head coach for nine of his eighteen years in the coaching profession. He is a two time Chaves County Teacher of Character Award Winner. His coaching awards include two individual State Championships and six District Championships for swimming and softball. He is also a recipient of the 5-5A Softball District Coach of the Year Award.

Garcia has been married to his wife, Danielle Garcia, for 21 years. The couple has three children, Melanie, Eric and Dominic. Melanie is completing her PTA Clinicals at Murray State College, while Eric is currently working for CERN in Geneva, Switzerland doing his physics research for UT Arlington. Their youngest child, Dominic, will be a Junior at Castleberry High School where he is currently ranked number 13 in his class.

Garcia looks forward to the opportunity to serve as a professional academic leader for Irma Marsh Middle School. The culture, students, and staff remind him of home and he is excited to continue leaving his mark on the school while serving as an assistant principal. Garcia would like to express his gratitude to the Board of Education for the opportunity to serve Castleberry ISD and the local community.
