Connecting Schools & Families

Two-way communication between families and schools is essential to student success. Research shows that children do better in school when families talk often with school staff and are more involved in their child’s education. Castleberry ISD utilizes several lines of communication with our parents and guardians. Please update your contact information regularly in Skyward. Keeping your contact information current helps you stay informed.

Phone Calls, Emails, and Text Messages

Castleberry ISD uses a mass messaging system called School Messenger to send phone calls, emails, and SMS text messages to our families and staff in English and Spanish. These messages help parents stay informed about upcoming events, grade reporting information, COVID-19 updates, and/or any emergencies. All parents and staff members are automatically enrolled to receive the messages, as long as a third phone number is listed on your student's Skyward profile.

It is important for parents to make sure your child's school has current contact information. Check the Skylert tab of your Skyward Family Access account to review your contact information. For more information and instructions on how to update your information visit our Contact Preferences webpage.

School Messenger Mobile App

With the School Messenger Mobile App you can easily set your contact preferences for any contact points in your Skyward Family Access profile. You can also view all of the messages sent to you by both the District and your child's school.

Although all students receive free standard meals for the 2021-2022 school year, parents may choose to add fund to a child's lunch account using the My School Bucks website. These funds will allow your child to purchase a la carte items from the school cafeteria. Parents may also view their child's meal spending history. In addition, My School Bucks is a great way to pay any outstanding fees for technology damage online using a debit or credit card.
