Transfer a Non-Resident Student to Castleberry ISD

Castleberry ISD will accept applications for Out of District students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade for non-resident students. The Out of District Transfer application window for the 2026-2027 school year closes on June 10, 2026. After June 10, 2026, the Out of District Transfer application will only reopen for campuses, grade levels, and programs with availability. Parents will be notified via the email address provided during registration of the approval/denial of their child's application.

Castleberry ISD's goal is to process and notify parents of an approval/denial decision by June 11, 2026. However, for programs, grade levels, or campuses that are near capacity, a decision could take longer. Applications submitted after June 10, 2026 will be processed on or before August 3, 2026.

Please note: Incomplete applications or applications lacking the required paperwork, will not be processed. An approved Out of District application may be revoked at any time if the parent does not disclose all programs in which their child is served and provide the accompanying paperwork when completing the application.

Priority will be given in the following order:

  • In district students (students who live in the CISD attendance zone)

  • Returning Out of District Transfer students (students enrolled and completed the 2025-2026 school year in CISD)

  • New Out of District Transfer students (applications approved/denied based on criteria listed below)

In processing all transfers, the campus principal or designee shall consider the following criteria:

  • Space availability at the requested campus and/or special program availability

  • Disciplinary record of the student

  • Attendance record of the student (90% attendance rate)

  • Filing of the request in a timely manner with all required paperwork

Applications will not be processed without the required documents. (attendance record, discipline record, report card, special programs documentation if applicable IEP, 504, ARD paperwork, GT, Speech etc..)
