Back to School Traffic Routes

Castleberry ISD welcomes all students back for the 2024-2025 school year on Wednesday, August 7! As the new school year begins, please be mindful of the traffic routes surrounding each campus, which are outlined below.

During school hours, exercise extra caution in traffic, particularly in school zones that will be active from morning drop-off through afternoon dismissal. Students will be walking to and from school, so please drive carefully and watch for pedestrians, especially on streets where sidewalks are not available.

Castleberry ISD school buses will also be on the roads, potentially affecting your travel. When approaching a school zone or a school bus, be prepared to stop for bus and pedestrian traffic.

Remember, using cell phones and/or tobacco in school zones is prohibited by law. Drive cautiously, stay alert to pedestrians crossing streets, and watch for buses making frequent stops.

Morning drop-off at each campus is scheduled between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.

A.V. Cato Elementary

Vehicles will enter the front parking lot from Barbara Road and form the lanes identified in the image. The red lane is used to access the parking spaces only. The yellow lanes are for drive thru only. Parking and walking a child to the entrance is not permitted in these areas.

Vehicles have two options for drop off and pick up at IMMS: Doyle Drive and Marsh Street (parking lot entrance). All students and visitors must utilize the marked crosswalks for drop off and pick up. Harrisdale Avenue and Worthview Street are one way streets during school zone hours.

Doyle Drive: Vehicles are encouraged to travel south on Churchill Road making a right at Doyle Drive and a left on Hagg Drive, where drivers will form two one-way lanes of traffic. Students are to stay inside the vehicle until the driver has been directed to pull forward to the orange cones where students can safely exit the vehicle. Once students have cleared the area, vehicles in both lanes will be directed to pull forward to the stop sign, where both lanes are required to turn right and travel west on Shear Drive.

Marsh Street (Parking Lot Entrance): Vehicles traveling north or south on Churchill Road may enter the parking lot and follow the one-way flow of traffic as depicted to drop off/pick up students. Vehicles must turn left at Shear Drive to exit the parking lot, and turn right on Churchill Road.
