Update 7-31: Thanks to a generous donation from a partner of the CISD Education Foundation, backpacks will now be included for free for elementary students with the purchase of a school supply bundle for only $7.00.

Dear Castleberry Community,

As part of our continued efforts to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students, Castleberry Independent School District is excited to announce some important changes for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. The safety of all students and staff is the top priority in Castleberry ISD. Beginning this school year, clear or mesh backpacks are required for all CISD students, and ID badges must be worn at all times at both Castleberry High and Irma Marsh Middle School. We will also be offering backpack and school supply bundles for elementary students that can be purchased for only $15 each.

Backpacks of students in Pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade must be made of clear material. Backpacks for 3rd through 5th grade students must be made of mesh material. Student backpacks in 6th through 12th grades can be made of either clear plastic or mesh material. Any questions concerning the use of backpacks for the 2018-2019 school year can be directed to the Director of Human Resources, the Executive Director of Elementary Education, or the Executive Director of Secondary Education at (817) 252-2000.

Parents of elementary school students can participate in the new School Supply Program. For only $15 parents can purchase a bundle that will include a clear (Pre-K through 2nd) or mesh (3rd through 5th) backpack and the supplies their child will need for the start of the school year. Parents with multiple elementary age children will be charged for the first two bundles and will receive any additional bundles for free. Payments will be accepted at each elementary campus beginning in early August. Parents may also elect to shop for school supplies on their own. For the current school supply list see the Castleberry Back to School Newsletter or visit the Back to School section of the Castleberry website.

Please note that the $15 charge for school supplies does not include the technology or audio fees. Starting this year, technology fees can be paid online through MySchoolBucks.

Thank you for your continued support of Castleberry Independent School District. It is your unwavering commitment that enables CISD to continue to grow and develop the innovative and safe educational environment that our students deserve.

Sincerely,

John Ramos
