IMMS Construction Update, April 2019
Posted on 04/01/2019

Behind the construction fence in front of Irma Marsh Middle School, crews are working hard and making progress. Standing twice as tall as the building, the huge drills are digging holes for the concrete piers that will support the school's front addition.

On the west side of the building, a new transformer has been installed and is operational. Under the ground, more progress is being made. The storm water utilities have been installed and crews are working on the installation of a new fire water line.

CISD would like to thank the students, staff, and parents of Irma Marsh for their patience during this construction process. The temporary changes to the traffic flow and parking area can sometimes be frustrating, but the final results of the construction process will be worth it.

The IMMS construction project began in December 2018. Additions and renovations to the school will include a new school entrance, new front office space, a new second-floor library, a new classroom wing with new science labs, current classroom renovations, and an additional fine arts wing for our band, choir, and mariachi programs.

These are exciting times for CISD and for the communities we serve. The district will regularly publish this newsletter to keep all citizens informed about the project as it unfolds. Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff, and go lions!
