Special EducationThe Four Purposes of Special Education are:1. To ensure that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education that emphasizes special educational and related services designed to meet their unique needs and to prepare them for employment and independent living, 2. To ensure that the rights of children with disabilities and their parents are protected, 3. To assist states, localities, educational service agencies, and Federal agencies to provide for the education of all children with disabilities, and 4. To assess and to ensure the effectiveness of efforts to educate children with disabilities. Instructional Arrangements: CISD offers the following instructional arrangements for the students who qualify for special education services: Content Mastery Working With Parents: The District is also committed to working with the parents of the students who qualify for Special Education. We offer Parent Support Groups for parents with children who have autism and who have severe emotional and behavioral issues. These groups meet monthly and every other month, respectively.
