Castleberry ISD offers Credit by Exam testing for students in grades 1st - 12th for the purpose of grade or course acceleration or retrieval. The state designates two testing windows each year for districts to set specific dates for Credit by Exam testing. Contact your child's school counselor for specific dates.

Elementary: Grades 1-5

For elementary students to receive credit for an entire grade level they must take a test in each of the four core subject areas: math, English language arts, science, and social studies for a total of four tests. Students must score a minimum of 90 on all tests.

Secondary: Grades 6-12

Secondary students may receive full credit for a course by taking tests in that subject area. There are two tests for each subject (Part A and Part B). Students must score a minimum of 90 on both tests taken for a subject.

For secondary students to receive credit for an entire grade level they must take two tests in each of the four core subject areas: math, English language arts, science and social studies for a total of eight tests. Students must score a minimum of 90 on all tests.
