Guidance and Counseling Services
Our guidance and counseling program plays an integral
role in the overall educational process. We provide a systematic, planned
approach to helping all students acquire and apply basic life skills.
Our program includes four major components: guidance curriculum services,
responsive services, individual planning and system support. The
services provided within these four areas include:
Guidance Curriculum
This area provides awareness, skill development and application of basic
skills needed for everyday life. Program address areas such as:
decision-making, goal-setting, communication, problem-solving, cultural
diversity and self-confidence.
Responsive Services
This component focuses on providing prevention and intervention
services in areas such as: academic concerns, school related concerns such
as tardiness, absenteeism, drop-put, abuse concerns such as physical, sexual
and emotional, grief/loss, substance abuse and other issues.
Individual Planning
Individual planning focuses on student planning and goal setting in areas
such as academics, career, personal and social.
System Support
Program delivery and support in areas such as:
Dad's Program, parent education, teacher
support, staff development, community outreach and school improvement
planning.
