CISD Financial Services Awarded Texas School FIRST Rating Sixth  Year in a Row!

Castleberry Independent School District received “Superior Achievement” under the School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) Rating.  The rating was achieved by answering yes to all 21 indicators used by Texas Education Agency (TEA).  This is the sixth year in a row Castleberry ISD has achieved the state’s highest “Superior Achievement” rating, demonstrating the quality of our financial management and reporting system.

Texas school districts’ School FIRST was developed by the TEA in response to Senate Bill 875 of the 76^th Texas Legislature in 1999.  The primary goal of School FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts’ financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system.

We are very pleased with Castleberry ISD’s School FIRST rating, as it shows that our district is making the most of our taxpayers’ dollars.  This rating shows that Castleberry ISD schools are accountable not only for student learning, but also for achieving these results cost-effectively and efficiently
