Castleberry ISD Receives Loss Prevention
Grant
Douglas Higgs, Executive Director of
Financial Services is being awarded the TASB Loss Prevention Grant from
Roger Ripley, TASB Sr. Loss Prevention Consultant.
Castleberry ISD has been awarded a loss prevention
grant of $3,000 from the Texas Association of School Boards' Risk
Management Fund. Grant monies will help implement loss prevention and
safety initiatives to reduce the potential for property losses and on
-the-job injuries and raise safety awareness. CISD will be using the
grant money to purchase a keyless entry system for Castleberry
Elementary.
CISD Financial Services Awarded Texas School FIRST Rating Fifth Year in a Row!
Castleberry Independent School District received “Superior Achievement”
under the School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas)
Rating. The rating was achieved by answering yes to all 21
indicators used by Texas Education Agency (TEA). This is the fifth year in a row
Castleberry ISD has achieved the state’s highest “Superior Achievement”
rating, demonstrating the quality of our financial management and
reporting system.
Texas
school districts’ School FIRST was developed by the TEA in response to
Senate Bill 875 of the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999. The
primary goal of School FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the
management of school districts’ financial resources, a goal made more
significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’
school finance system.
We are
very pleased with Castleberry ISD’s School FIRST rating, as it shows
that our district is making the most of our taxpayers’ dollars. This
rating shows that Castleberry ISD schools are accountable not only for
student learning, but also for achieving these results cost-effectively
and efficiently
