Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute teacher with the Castleberry Independent School District. Substitute teaching is an excellent way to learn about the schools while allowing principals, teachers and staff to get to know you.
The following is required in order to become a substitute teacher: Applicants are required to have completed 48 or more credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university, (Valid Texas teaching certificate Preferred). Applicants with less than 48 college hours on their transcripts, who have a Texas Educational Aide Certificate, and a high school diploma or GED, are eligible to substitute as teacher aides.

The Reference section must include three (3) references with phone
numbers. One must be a previous employer that can be contacted.
Step 2 - Submit Official Transcripts
Transcripts must indicate hours or degrees awarded.
Step 3 - Complete Pre-Employment Documents
Step 4 - Background Clearance and fingerprint completed
Step 5 - Attend Substitute Training.
