The Arts Advantage:

Visual art is a part of the fine arts subjects which are “Required Curriculum” at all Castleberry ISD schools. The CORE ACADEMIC SUBJECTS are now listed as English, reading or language arts, mathematics, science, foreign languages, civics and government, economics, ARTS, history, and geography. All elementary students take visual art as a part of their fine arts education.

Each of the elementary schools in Castleberry ISD has a specialist teaching the arts subject. Having a specialist to teach the arts subject is very unusual in most school districts.  The administration feels that the arts are important in the development of the whole child. Almost all of the information we receive in the learning process is acquired kinesthetically, auditorally, and visually. The visual arts especially provide opportunities to activate those kinesthetic and visual intelligences which are applicable to learning in all other subject areas.
