CISD Financial Services Awarded
Texas School FIRST Rating of "Superior Achievement"
For The Eleventh Consecutive Year!
Castleberry Independent School District received a final rating of “Superior Achievement” under the School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) Rating. The Superior Achievment rating is the state's highest, demonstrating the quality of Castleberry ISD's financial management and reporting system. The District received a perfect score of 70 by answering yes to all 21 indicators used by Texas Education Agency (TEA).
This is the eleventh year of TEA's School FIRST financial accountability system for Texas school districts. School FIRST was developed by the TEA in response to Senate Bill 875 of the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999. The primary goal of School FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts’ financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system.
The School FIRST accountability rating system assigns one of four accountability ratings to Texas school districts with the highest being "Superior Achievement," followed by "Above-Standard Achievement," "Standard Achievement" and "Substandard Achievement". Districts with serious data quaility problems may recieve the additional rating of "Suspended-Data Quality" and must file a corrective action plan with TEA.
We are very pleased with Castleberry ISD’s School FIRST rating and take financial accountability and transparency very seriously. CISD is making the most of our taxpayers’ dollars. This rating shows that Castleberry ISD schools are accountable not only for student learning, but also for achieving these results cost-effectively and efficiently.
