Summer 2020

Castleberry Graduation

Message from Superintendent of Schools,

As many of you know, due to inclement weather experienced on June 19, 2020, CISD was forced to cancel the graduation at Texas Motor Speedway.  In order to give the Class of 2020 another opportunity to experience a graduation ceremony, CISD has determined that rescheduling this event would be better suited to take place on July 17, 2020, at 8:00 p.m. at W.O. Barnes Stadium.  If we experience inclement weather on this date, the event would be moved to July 18th at 9:00 a.m. at W.O. Barnes Stadium.  CISD will continue to communicate with the Tarrant County Health Department, as well as adhere to Governor Abbott’s state orders as it relates to holding large gatherings outside, while at the same time ensuring safety and health mandates of social distancing and the number of guests which are allowed in W.O. Barnes Stadium.  Having said this, there may be a limit to the number of guests that will be allowed to enter the venue; however, more information will come out two weeks prior to the event to adhere to the most updated orders issued by the governor.  Be sure to visit the district’s and Castleberry High School’s website and social media pages for additional information to come.

John Ramos, Ph.D.

2020-2021 School Calendar
The Texas Education Agency has shared that the 2021 School Year is likely to include short-term disruptions to instruction due to COVID-19 outbreaks. Therefore, TEA has challenged school districts to create a school calendar with intersessional breaks in case there is a need to stop the spread of the virus.

CHS Prom Cancellation
With the ongoing COVID-19 health risks and continued restrictions set forth by Governor Abbott which requires 6 feet of ongoing social distancing in groups of 10 or more, we have elected to cancel prom. This is not how any of us planned your senior year would go.
