REACH News and Activities  | African Drummer Visits REACH On Friday, April 16th, African drummer, Leo Hassan returned to REACH to educate students about drumming. This was made possible by a fine arts grant. After a brief history of African drumming techniques and purposes, Mr. Hassan taught the group African songs that were used to greet guests or to warn of potential danger. It was an experience the students will never forget. | | | 
| Board of Trustees Recognitions Each month at the CISD Board of Trustees Meetings, employees and students are recognized for their outstanding achievements. Wanda Mitchell, Principal of REACH High School, recognized 11th grader, Dakota Hargett; 12th grader Marcy Madrigal; and 12th grader Summer Morse; and staff members, Social Studies Instructor, Alan Burke and Para-Educator, Sandra Cervantez. |

| Annual Easter Egg Hunt On Friday, April 2nd, 80 kindergarten and special needs children from Joy James Elementary visited REACH High School for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Due to the weather conditions, the hunt was moved indoors and took place in the REACH classrooms.
Joy James students were matched up with a high school “buddy” and proceeded to one of the classrooms to hunt eggs. After the egg hunt, which consisted of 1,200 eggs, the festivities continued with arts and crafts activities. The fun was wrapped up with refreshments and then a group picture. | | | | |
