Volunteer Appreciation Elementary Schools Celebrate Volunteers
Castleberry PK-1, Castleberry 2-3, and A.V. Cato Elementary held a
Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast in honor of all those who have helped in our schools throughout this school year.

Our volunteers are amazing! They make copies, monitor classrooms, cut and paste projects, tutor and mentor our students and much more.

Morris Brothers Assembly
The Morris Brothers Visit A. V. Cato

They’re hip, they’re hot, they’re cool, and they’re nerds?!

That’s right, but they believe N.E.R.D. stands for a Never Ending Radical DudeThey may look like nerds, with their taped glasses, pen-stuffed pockets, and less than stylish clothes, but they believe they are “Superheroes” on a mission to save the world!

Brothers Rupert and Homer Morris performed original songs that promoted student involvement, test taking strategies and how choices have outcomes.

The Morris Brothers reminded students that “School’s Cool”. Students were chosen from the audience to help rock out with The Morris Brothers on stage.

Pennies for Pasta Fundraiser
The students and staff of Castleberry Elementary recently participated in the
Olive Garden’s Pennies for Pasta fundraiser benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

The Pennies for Pasta program gives young students the opportunity to raise funds for blood cancer research and services for families.  Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer in children and teens under the age of twenty.

During the fundraiser, students learn to work as a team, develop team spirit, to care for others and to recognize that they can make a difference as an important part of their community.

Castleberry PK-1 raised $2,446.66 and Castleberry 2-3 raised $2,517.05 for this worthy cause.  The top fund-raising classes were Mrs. Holman’s first grade class and Mrs. Hisey’s second grade classBoth classes received a pasta lunch from the Olive Garden.
