CHS Marching Band on the Field during UIL

The Castleberry High School Lion Band competed in the UIL Region 30 Marching Contest on October 20th and was awarded a 1st Division, also known as a superior rating. Saturday's performance qualified the CHS band to compete in the UIL Area D Marching Band Contest. The Area contest will be held at Pflugerville Stadium in Pflugerville, Texas on Saturday October 27th.

The area contest consists of a preliminary performance and the top 10 compete in the finals. Depending on the number of bands competing, as many as five bands may be chosen to compete in the state marching contest in early November 2018.

The Lion Band has had a very successful marching season. On October 6th, the band competed at The Sounds of Fall in Princeton, TX and qualified in finals, placing 11th out of 22 bands. This contest is considered the "Pre Mini State Marching Contest" because the top 10 in 4A classification compete at this contest.

On October 13th, the Lion Band drove down to Brenham, TX and competed at the Buccaneer Marching Festival, hosted by Blinn College, earning first place in 4A classification, and winning Outstanding Drum Line and Color Guard of the day.

Please congratulate our Lion Band students for these wonderful achievements.
