On Tuesday, October 16, 2012, Irma Marsh Middle School hosted its first “Grr-reat Character Breakfast”. Each six weeks period, students and staff at IMMS focus on a character trait. During the first six weeks the trait was “Caring.”
Teachers were asked to nominate students that they witnessed “caring” for others at Irma Marsh. Two boys and two girls were selected from each grade to be honored at the breakfast.
Parents were invited to attend the breakfast and celebrate their students’ Grr-reat Character. Every student received a certificate, medal, and nominations written by their teachers. Awards were presented by the Irma Marsh counselors: Amy Boyd and Joy Chandler.
During the second six weeks period, the character trait is “Respect”. Students at Irma Marsh are encouraged to show respect through staff involvement and guidance lessons. How will you show respect today?
