Module 4 Multimedia - Online Tutorial

Course Description

In this course, you will complete a series of tutorials to learn the skills that will enable you to create a multimedia presentation. Each tutorial will have a practice portion that will be saved as an artifact in your Technology Proficiencies Portfolio for Multimedia. Once you have completed this course, you will be able to show that you are proficient in multimedia presentations.

Course Artifacts

In this course, you will complete 5 artifacts that will eventually be saved in your Technology Proficiencies Portfolio>04 Module Multimedia>Online  folder upon completion of this course. The following list describes how each artifact should be named in your portfolio as well as the file type:

1. Slides, text, and notes (this artifact will be a presentation)
2. Design and layout (this artifact will be a presentation)
3. Proof, print, prep for the show notes (this artifact must be printed as a PDF)
4. Proof, print, prep for the show handout (this artifact must be printed as a PDF)
5. Color, movement and sound (this artifact will be a presentation)

Course Tasks

1. Create a folder on the computer you are using to complete this course and name it Online Module 4.
As you complete each artifact in this course, you will save it into this folder.
**Remember, you can save this folder on a USB storage device  if you wish to complete this course using more than one computer (classroom, home, etc). You must have Microsoft PowerPoint on the computer to complete the artifacts.**

2. Microsoft Office Online PowerPoint 2003
Click on the link above to access and complete the online tutorial for PowerPoint 2003.
There are 3 lessons in this tutorial.
You will complete the first 4 artifacts in this tutorial and save these artifacts in your Online Module 4 folder as described above in Course Artifacts.

3. Lesson 4 - Enhancing Your Presentation with Color, Movement and Sound (PDF)
Prior to starting this lesson, you will need to locate the video "Reading Food Labels" on the CISD Network and save a copy of this video in your Online Module 4 folder. You will insert this video into the practice presentation for this lesson
The video "Reading Food Labels" is located on Public>Technology Proficiencies Modules>04 Multimedia>Online.

4. Copy and save your Online Module 4 folder that contains the 5 artifacts and supporting files from this course into your Technology Proficiencies Portfolio. Your Portfolio is located on Public>Technology Proficiencies Portfolios>(Campus).

5. Email the Instructional Technologist for your campus once you have completed this course to receive credit for completion.
